From 2007-2018
Delivering a complete range of research services for cultural sector organisations within the context of audience development. Long term clients included the National Theatre of Scotland, Palace of Holyrood House, Glasgow Film Theatre and the Byre Theatre. Clair led the Creative Lives project which involved over 30 organisations and focused on learning and participation activity. Clair delivered the evaluation of the Forget Me Not project at Capital Theatres which aimed to create a dementia friendly community at the theatres.
From 1998-2007
Bonnar Keenlyside is an independent consultancy working with cultural organisations to deliver change. Clair’s work with BK included the consultation on the Scottish Government’s first National Cultural Strategy, work on DCMS pilot cultural strategies in Easington and Sunderland including both the consultation and strategy writing. She also led the research for many capital feasibility studies and organisational change programmes.
During and after studying Clair worked in front of house, box office, admin and marketing roles with a range of venues, festivals, galleries and companies including Royal Lyceum Edinburgh, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and Scottish Chamber Orchestra.
Clair has an MSc in Cultural Policy & Management as well as a MA Hons in English Literature and History of Art both from the University of Edinburgh.
I am a member of the Market Research Society and as such abide by the MRS Code of Conduct. I am registered with the ICO to use data for market research.
In 2021 I completed a programme aimed at supporting cultural practitioners to embed antiracism in their practice. I have also undertaken training in disability equality. My professional values support undertaking proactive steps to challenge discrimination.
